A very high quality English 19th Century Satinwood Marquetry Two Tier Inlaid Oval Etagere Table
The table features two beautifully figured oval tiers, extensively decorated with fine floral and foliate marquetry, penwork and contrasting inlaid borders. The upper tier is centred by a charming musical trophy depicting string and wind instruments with open sheets of music, enclosed within a laurel wreath and elaborate scrolling floral decoration.
The larger lower tier is similarly decorated, centred by a classical trophy comprising a bow, arrows, quiver and flaming torch, again surrounded by delicate floral scrollwork and a dark foliate border.
The upper tier is supported on four elegant curved uprights above slender tapering legs, united beneath by curved stretchers. The edges are attractively crossbanded in a darker contrasting timber.
