A very high quality 19th Century French Walnut Abattant / Secretaire Chest with seven beautifully figured honey coloured walnut veneers laid in a symmetrical pattern across the fall and drawer fronts. The drawers are walnut lined including a secretaire drawer which opens to reveal a writing bureau with a fitted interior and six small stationery drawers inside. The Abattant has a moulded edge across the top and four carved mounts fitted on the front. Comes apart in two separate sections on original bracket feet with working key.
